iNspect
is a breakthrough machine vision inspection tool designed for a
broad range of applications, from precision metrology to pharmaceutical
packaging. Wrapped within an easy-to-use user interface, iNspect
provides a suite of tools that can be readily applied to a multitude
of inspection tasks, such as positioning, measuring, identification,
verification and flaw detection.
iNspect
now includes support for color processing. Color inspection
is often needed to verify different parts on assemblies or to sort
parts based on their color. Mono tools can be applied to these tasks
when color differences are easy to distinguish, but when color differences
are slight, the use of mono tools become unreliable. The new iNspect
allows users to quickly segment images by color (shown below) and
bring the entire set of mono tools to bear on the application. In
keeping with iNspect's trademark ease-of-use, the interface includes
a simple point and click color calibration tool to remove unrealistic
color casts (also known as white balance).

Without
color processing, seemingly simple inspection tasks like the one
shown above would be very difficult to setup using mono tools alone.
iNspect's
straightforward 5-step setup allows users to quickly configure and
deploy an application. Each of the inspection tools have been carefully
designed to extract the relevant information from the object image.
No programming or extensive training is required!
The
heart of our Vision Appliance hardware, iNspect is also offered
as a standalone software package for deployment with an industrial
PC and DALSA GigE cameras. Included with the iNspect software is
iLabel, an application designed specifically for the packaging industry
that is used to verify the placement and quality of labels on packaged
goods.
