IPD VA61 Vision Appliance praised for Cutting Edge Technological Innovation

WATERLOO, ONTARIO - November 21, 2008 - DALSA Corporation (TSX: DSA) was honored in an awards ceremony hosted by the editors of Automobile Industry (AI) China magazine during which the company's IPD VA61 Vision Appliance was named as the winner of AI's "Outstanding Product of 2008" in the award's Vision category. The products were first evaluated and graded by experts from automobile and auto parts manufacturers, and then voted on by readers online.

DALSA's Vision Appliances are embedded machine vision solutions that provide the ease-of-use, performance and flexibility required to meet the diverse requirements of industrial applications, while accommodating the needs and experience of end users.

The nomination criteria are based on technology adoption by industrial users in China and the value add to end-users. The VA61 Vision Appliance was chosen for the award for its support of eight GigE cameras or more and its ability to support both asynchronous and simultaneous acquisition.
