ipd Announces Full-Featured Vision Appliance at Entry Level Price

BILLERICA, MA (October 29, 2006) – ipd, a DALSA Group, today announced the release of the VA15, a low-cost, fully-featured Vision Appliance for single camera applications.

"Unlike other products in its class, the VA15 provides a CCD imager and a full-suite of vision tools to tackle a broad range of applications", says Steve Geraghty, Director of ipd. "The VA15 allows customers to go beyond the typical presense/absence expectation offered by traditional smart sensors at a comparable price."

Housed in a compact, DIN mountable enclosure, the VA15 provides quick user setup, factory friendly wiring and a remote small format camera with 640x480 sensor resolution. The state of each of the industrial grade Inputs and Outputs is reflected by an associated LED light on the front of the unit. I/O connections are conveniently exposed through screw terminal headers.

The VA15 comes with software preinstalled on the device, thus eliminating version control problems. The popular iNspect application is exposed through a standard web browser on a connecting network computer, thus providing "connect and go" capability. The device is equipped with a Gigabit compliant network connection that allows a real-time image feed to the web browser.

Available now, the VA15 provides end users and machine vision integrators with a powerful, low-cost solution. It offers ease-of-use, performance and flexibility to satisfy a wide range of current and future application needs.
