ipd Introduces Turbocharged Versions of NetSight II Vision Systems

BILLERICA, MA (July 19, 2005) – ipd, a DALSA Coreco Group, announces the release of new high performance versions of the company’s powerful NetSight II machine vision systems. The "M" systems are form and fit compatible with their predecessors, but include more features and are capable of delivering up to three times the overall performance. Powered by a turbocharged 1.6GHz processor with 2MB of local cache and 512MB of high-speed program memory, the NetSight II M systems compare in image processing performance with today’s fastest PC desktop machines.

"The M series products boast performance that is unparalleled by any Compact Machine Vision System on the market," said Steve Geraghty, Director of ipd. "They are faster and lower power than the standard models and offer users tremendous flexibility in their application design, from choice of camera to software preference".

In addition to the standard Analog and Camera Link™ interfaces, NetSight II M systems are compatible with the very latest camera technologies, such as IEEE 1394 and GigE Ethernet. The Multi-Channel MCA product, for example, can acquire images from 3 such digital IEEE 1394 cameras and 3 standard Analog cameras simultaneously. This provides users with the ability to select the technology that best fits the need, as well as significant cost savings for multi-camera applications.

NetSight II M systems provide users with a choice of software options for building vision solutions. For end users and integrators, the systems are fully supported by ipd’s Sherlock™ vision software. A powerful inspection tool that has been deployed in thousands of installations worldwide, Sherlock gives you the tools and capabilities at your fingertips to apply to a diverse range of inspection tasks. For integrators or machine builders who wish to port their own software, the systems come with a library of C++ functions to access the individual hardware components.

The NetSight II M products are offered in various configurations to satisfy the machine vision needs of end users, integrators and machine builders alike. Pricing starts at $2,995.

More information about ipd and its product offerings—including Vision Appliances, NetSight II™ Vision Systems and Sherlock™ inspection software—can be found on the company’s web site, www.goipd.com.
